Colour of three

Here some new lyrics from our new song we are working on… (to be posted soon)

Colour of three

Colour of three, blue

and I’m passing through

saw my name written down, and the love that would be

in the colour of three

Colour of three, gree

as I’m living in a dream

said the grass was so high

couldn’t see the lost me

in the colour of three

Colour of three, red

as I’m lying in bed

closed my arms around you, unborn child and we

in the colour of three

Colour of three white

in the room of light

clean me, clean me with hope under couplers tree

in the colour of three

Colour of three, grey

slowly making way

lifting, fall, lifting, lifting, back in the sea

in the colour of three

Recent work…

We are working on various things at the moment.

First:  There is a short film by Nikolaus Jantsch (http://www.student.uni-ak.ac.at/s9957079/index.htm) to which we are composing the music to. It is a 3.35 min long bw, made out of a series of pictures taken at a trip through Brussels. The idea is to create to different scenes through music. One will be an emotional interpretation, the other a conceptional of the film. We will post the finished result soon on the website, so look out for it.

Second: We are working on a Blues, which was fist a task given by my Uni, than became more… The big question was and still is: What is the Blues to me? Where is my connection to something that has it’s roots in the Mississippi Delta – USA? It was a Quest, but the result is quite interesting. So that is what I found when I was searching for the Blues in me: AnotherLov (To be posted soon)

Goldsmithsensemble with Eska and Matthew

I started in Eska Mtungwazi’s choir at Goldsmith college… We performed one of Matthew Herbert’s Programs last Friday and will support him at the Barbican Hall on the 26th of October for the 75th anniversary of the British Council… what an experience and what great artists! Eska is full of power that just takes you on a journey with her… I’ve learned more about music and myself then I have leaned in a long time… unity, performance, giving and taking, energy, one breath, one voice, support, standing, waiting, listening, repeating… we learned 7 songs in 5 days, rehearsed 24 hours in total and still everybody was motivated… enthusiastic to learn more and give more… the crew that is training us is absolutely fantastic… live is a process and there is so much to learn…

for all that is lost…

So we are working till late and I just can’t figure out what it is with this song. I carry it around for months now and I love it’s energy when I sing it, what it does to me, but the spark just doesn’t want to get to the people listening. So we sit and we discuss about it and nothing happens and finally I give up. Maybe it’s just not there yet, maybe it needs more time.

I cant believe that my songs are not as impatient as I am, but not everyone can be the same, can we? So I just stop working on it for a bit. Moor says it wants to be alone for some time and I really cannot connect to it anymore. But then this evening my sister calls and we have a good chat about things and live in general and suddenly out of nowhere it appears to me…

I finally see what is missing and then within an hour the song is complete and we sit there and can’t believe how simple it is…

drums of heart…

exmoor1exmoor2exmoor3

Chris and I take some days off and go to Exmoore, cause London gets too intense… we stay on a camping site near Porlock and it’s just nature and us (and some other campers…), it is absolutely and massively the opposite of London and that is absolutely and massively what we need to get our heads clear again…

we walk at the seaside, rough swamp land, picturesque landscapes… it’s beautiful and then I read an article about this british poet who wrote a poem about war and it had this sentence in it the ‘drums of war’ (sorry forgot his name)… what  powerful line this is and as we play around in the afternoon, Christoph on guitar and he starts with this amazing sound that reminds me of this line and as I sing along we start with ‘drums of heart’…

heart related stories are like war sometimes… they totally grab you and throw you into something you never expected… ‘drums of heart’ is about loosing something… a piece of your heart, unexpected… it is a very strong song for me and Chris and that’s why we kept it so simple in it’s structure… there is nothing more to say about it and we didn’t want to destroy it with complicated lines or changes…

it’s about this one moment that can change a lot in your life… I think everyone knows exactly what I mean…
